The glass is smooth with a matte finish. When a breeze causes the beach stone clapper to tap the copper chimes, they produce a soothing music. Unlike the large aluminum chimes which impress at first with their very loud sound but which may soon become an annoying disturbance, many find that copper blends more harmoniously with the environment and provides a more relaxing experience.
The chimes are suspended using handmade copper hardware from solid oiled cedar wood. Unlike the more frequently found plywood, this will never delaminate.
