Coast Chimes is located on the Sunshine Coast, British Columbia, Canada, and visitors are warmly welcomed to the studio 7 days a week. Since the artist, Tim Kline, is almost always home working, it is not essential to phone ahead of time. But he does go out for a daily walk / beach comb, so if possible it is prudent to phone (604-229-5560), if you want to be 100% sure of a successful visit.
Coast Chimes is a member of the Sunshine Coast Cultural Alliance Purple Banner program, so you will see the purple flag flying near the entrance to the studio parking, located at 535 Woodland Avenue, Gibsons, BC, Canada. The Sunshine Coast is beautiful, and rich with wonderful artists and galleries. The Purple Banner guide is available on the BC ferry you take from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale, and well worth picking up. It's full of great places to visit.
Tim always has time to give a tour of his workshop, explain his inspiration, show the details of what makes his wind chimes and suncatchers so special, and to answer questions. There is never any expectation or pressure to buy. Come and see a unique exhibit, a wonderful food garden, and a special small and simple house.
Should you decide you would like one of his special west coast creations, shopping in person means great savings! All the prices on the website are in US dollars, and Tim charges the same figure but in Canadian dollars for visitors, so if an item is $100 US, you pay $100 CAD, a savings these days of over 35 dollars. Plus, obviously, no shipping charges.
